Welcome!
Fr. DavidA Note from Father David
Welcome to our home on the web!  Cape Cod Campus Ministry is a ministry of the Diocese of Fall River to students, faculty and staff of Cape Cod Community College as well as to area young adults (18yrs. to 40).  These are very exciting years with many challenges.

Beginning a college education is very exciting.  It marks a big change in your life and that of your family.  Over the last few years you have been taking more and more responsibility for your own life, but now this is even more the case.  You've heard it all already: "your parents won't be there to remind you to do your homework", "your professors won't keep on you to work on your paper or get ready for the next exam", etc., etc.  The fact is though, this is a time of new independence and new responsibility.  This also applies to your faith.

We are here to be of service to you (not to be spies for your parents!). There are many services that we provide for you (Mass, spiritual direction, someone to talk to, etc) and opportunities for you to be involved in community service, learning more about your faith, etc.

Fr. David is on campus at 4C's on Tuesdays from 11AM to 1PM (beginning Sept. 13), but can be reached via Facebook, email (dfrederici@umassd.edu)  or phone (508-737-6842).  In addition, there are resources and information on this website that you may find useful and you are also invited to "like" our Facebook page (facebook.com/capecatholic).
Good Luck and we hope to see you at some of our events or activities!

About Us

About the Ministry

In October of 2004 Bishop George W. Coleman asked Fr. David Frederici to create a ministry to students at Cape Cod Community College.  This ministry first began solely as an off-campus program run from Our Lady of Hope Chapel in West Barnstable, about a mile from campus.  In 2005 a student club was formed on campus.  This club is called CARITAS (short for Community About Redeeming, Inspiring, Transforming A Society).  It's constitution includes a provision of a chaplain assigned by the Diocese of Fall River.

Recognizing the reality that many students at 4C's work half time or more, the presence of students from other colleges living on the Cape and the age range of the student body at the College, the ministry has included programs for those called "young adults" by the Church, that is those between the ages of 18 and 40.

Programming follows the guidelines put forth by the United States Bishops in their documents  Empowered by the Spirit: Campus Ministry Faces the Future and Sons and Daughters of the Light (a pastoral plan for ministry to young adults).  In addition the ministry follows the standards and ethical guidelines put forth by the Catholic Campus Ministry Association.
